Seriously Fun is primarily an Endurance Racing Team who compete in the 3-hour Carter’s Tyre Service South Island Endurance Series. Although we have recently MC’d our first wedding.

Star driver Timo St Anton and Round driver Le Ton Tremain currently campaign a 1994 Peugeot 106 Rallye (Pugalicious), affectionately sometimes referred to as the 106 “MC”. Such is our versatility no-one expected “MC” to mean both Mobile Chicane (French for wander) and Master of Ceremonies. The Star driver pushes the pace while the Round driver goes round and around, aiming to bring the car back to the pits how it left. We are not just here for a clean finish…

We promote participation in motorsport.
We compete as hard as we can while having as much fun as we can along the way.

We believe by driving a relatable car, always turning up, consistently finishing, with high standards of driving, a positive fun can do attitude and a modest budget we can reach a wider audience.
People following the series and / or sport think if they can do it, so can we! We want to see more motorsport competitors and more people involved, be it volunteers, spectators, or pit crew.
This can only be good for the sport.

It is Serious(ly) and we have as much Fun (possibly more) as any of our friendly competitors.

The Carter’s Tyre Service South Island Endurance Series is very professional with an incredible array of race cars, drivers, an atmosphere, and attitude second to none. It is one of the best series to race in and uses the best places and racetracks in New Zealand.

The series has a proven history of developing our talented New Zealand drivers who have gone onto overseas drives.

The series is also unique to the world of motorsport. Where else in the real world of motorsport can you see top tier international racing drivers competing against both developing aspiring drivers at the same time as amateur drivers and “Round” drivers in machinery even more diverse?

With five separate classes racing in the same race, this series see’s everything from current generation Audi R8 LMS Evo GT3, SaReNi Engineering Camaro GT3 (“the eight litre heater”) with factory built GT3 cars from Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes, and Porsche competing simultaneously against NZ built ingenuity like Collins & Sons NASACAR powered Boss Mustang, McFarlane’s V8 powered 911, Henderson’s awesome 7.2 litre Toyota 86 to factory built TCR cars, ex WTCC machines to V8 Super tourers, rotary powered Rx7’s and Rx8’s to Honda Integra’s and Civic’s through to the mighty Peugeot 106 Rallye’s and many more. All enduring and respectfully competing for overall and class honours aka the chocolate fish.

Recently a fan in the pits came to us to tell us when he saw us racing, he felt the sport was in a very good place. This was music to our ears and Timo loves his music.

Like all racers we want to be first. This is often trackside for Seriously Fun. Although we twice came second on track. Finishing 2nd in class for the 2018 series and 2nd in class at Levels 2016.

We are New Zealand’s (likely the worlds) first race team to offer trackside Tarot readings. The first to offer a Driver Exchange Programme not to mention our Lolly Trolley. Now we are New Zealand’s 1st Crowd Funded Amateur Race Team.

With more 1st’s than seconds, Turtle Wax took a shine to being our sponsor, but we only scored points at two of the four rounds in 2019, throwing the matte over our “the perfect finish” mantra with spectacular thick white fog at Levels recording our first real DNF, thus ruining “The Tortoise & Hairy GThrees” fairy tale end.

Fortunately, we like pushing boundaries.

This led to the development of New Zealand’s 1st Crowd Funded Amateur Race Team.
We believe a group of people exist who want to support us and race with us. One that would like to see us flip the old adage on its back “to make a small fortune in motorsport, start with a big one”. With no fortune, we aim to continue only asking for good race fortune.

Thank you for stopping by.

We are thrilled to again be racing NZ’s best cars with many of NZ’s best drivers throughout the 2020 Carter’s Tyre Service South Island Endurance Racing Drivers Championships.

We invite you to enjoy sport AND entertainment.

We invite you to race with us.

Merci

Timo and Le Ton
